During the next edition of the Weir Venloop, I will run a Half-marathon taking place on Sunday 24 March 2024 and the marathon half of april in Rotterdam. Last year I ran and raised 775 euro for Congo, can I count on your support again?
For this purpose, I chose to collaborate with Stichting Barnabas, a smaller Dutch Christian foundation, who runs a beautiful project in DR Congo. I want to help them help themselves by providing a € 1500 microfinance loan so Joseph can help grow his pharmacy.

About the project
In war-torn DR Congo Stichting Barnabas is supporting entrepeneurs by providing micro-finances, for example for Joseph who want to grow his small pharmacy shop to enable more people with medication! A € 1500 loan was able to grow his business and his first payback has been done. I would like to help him with another loan so he can grow sustainably.
Stichting Barnabas is a small dutch christian NGO who helps, comforts and encourages vunerable people in places like DR Congo, Lebanon and Ukraine.
About Karoline
My name is Karoline Kowalik. I am an engineer, PhD researcher, dancer, baker and runner. Since middleschool, I have participated in running events and voluntary work for Unicef, Muettergenesungswerk (Foundation for Mothers), catholic church and the British Heart Foundation by selling Christmas cards, collecting donations, and taking care of the church’s youth and working in a charity shop. Next to work and my studies, I am running long-distance races (10K, Half-Marathon, and Marathon) and a highlight was running the NYC Marathon last year!
